JAMES EDWARD WHITLEY

James Edward Whitley, 78, of Roanoke, VA., passed away Wednesday, November 13, 2019.  James was preceded in death by his parents, Edgar L. Whitley and Willie H. Catron; daughter, Rebecca D. Whitley; sister, Betty Thomas; brother-in-law, Robert Thomas.

James retired from GE after 38 years of service.  He was active 30 years with The March of Dimes. 

James is survived by his loving wife of 58 years this month, Phyllis D. Whitley; son and daughter-in-law, Anthony and Angela Whitley; brother and sister-in-law, Bill and Sandy McKeever; sisters and brothers in-law,  Elwood Divers and Sally Smiley, Wayne and Jill Divers, June and Richard Jewel; four nieces; five nephews.

In lieu of flowers, donations would be appreciated to The March of Dimes.

Funeral service will be conducted 10 a.m. Saturday, November 16, 2019 at Lotz Salem Chapel.  The family will receive friends from 6 to 8 p.m. Friday, November 15, 2019 at Lotz Funeral Home Salem.
