Tribute

Wanda Burton Duncan, 85, of Salem, VA passed away peacefully on January 15, 2020 at The Oaks at Richfield.

Wanda was born in Bland, Virginia. She was the wife of the late Richard G. Duncan and the daughter of Arland D. Burton and Callie Sarver Burton, both deceased. She was a faithful member of Green Hill Church of the Brethren. Wanda was also a member of the Wabun Social Services Club and the Fort Lewis Fire Department Ladies Auxiliary. She enjoyed flowers and gardening.

Wanda is survived by her children, Ronald Edward Duncan and wife, Deborah, of Salem, VA and Carol Duncan Esau of Pittsboro, NC; grandchildren, Ryanne and Paige Duncan, of Salem, VA; sisters in law, Edith Burton and Geneva Blosser; and a number of nieces and nephews.

In addition to her husband and parents she was preceded in death by three older brothers and two older sisters.

The family will receive friends at Lotz Funeral Home in Salem on Friday, January 17, 2020 from 5:00 until 8:00 pm.

A funeral service will be held at the Lotz Funeral Home Chapel in Salem on Saturday, January 18, 2020 at 10:00 am. Burial will follow in Blue Ridge Memorial Gardens.

In lieu of flowers memorials may be made to Green Hill Church of the Brethren, 2699 Harborwood Road, Salem, VA 24153.

The family would like to extend a special thank you to the staff of The Oaks at Richfield as well as the staff at Good Samaritan Hospice for their care and compassion.
