Vickie Lynn Wood

Vickie Lynn Wood, 68, of Salem passed away at Lewis Gale Medical Center on September 13, 2021.

A native of Virginia she was the daughter of the late Gordon Augustus Jones and Velda Marie Jones, who survives. Vickie was a graduate of Glenvar High School. She retired from the City of Salem after many years of service. Vickie was a member of St. Thomas of Canterbury Anglican Catholic Church. She enjoyed crafting, researching ancestry, and was an avid reader.

In addition to her mother she is survived by her loving and devoted son, David Randall Wood; her granddaughter, Marleigh Victoria Wood; brother, Gordon Lee Jones and wife Marcia; her half-sister, Dorothy Vialpando and husband Gabe; two nieces, Sydney Bryce Jones and Christie Allmon; nephew, Gene “Bo” Allmon; and her best friend, Karen Smith.

At Vickie’s request no services will be held.

In lieu of flowers memorials may be made to Angels of Assisi, 415 Campbell Ave SW, Roanoke, VA 24016.
