Thelma C. Anderson

Thelma Custer Anderson, 99, of Catawba passed away on June 5, 2021 at Lewis Gale Medical Center.

A native of Virginia she was the wife of the late David William Anderson and the daughter of Guy William Custer and Ida Mae Sirry Custer, both deceased.

Thelma is survived by her daughter, Brenda Starkey; two sons, Donnie Anderson and wife Joan and Ronnie Anderson and wife Glenna; four grandchildren; eight great grandchildren; a sister, Betty Joe Bernard; and a brother, James R. “Bobby” Custer, Sr.

In addition to her husband and parents she was preceded in death by three brothers, Carl Custer, Calvern Custer, and Randolph Custer; and two sisters, Frances McMillian and Margaret Wilson.

A private graveside service will be held at Cedar Lawn Memorial Park.

The family would like to extend a special thank you to Thelma’s caregivers, Regina Garlick, Melissa Lane, Donna Law, and her daughter in law Joanie Anderson.
