STEPHEN EUGENE COOK

Stephen E. Cook was born March 24, 1944 to Eugene and Zana P. Cook of Ironto.

He is survived by his daughter, Marney C. Kipfer, of Concise, Switzerland; step-daughters, Angie C. Trotter, Cherie Calhoun; sister and brother-in-law, Charlotte and Steve Pendleton; niece, Sara P. Deaver ; nephew, Seth Pendleton.

Stephen was critically burned on December 13, 1957 in Ironto and went on to make an astounding recovery at the Shriners Crippled Children’s Hospital in Richmond. Stephen worked in various facets of the auto body business in Roanoke and owned Cook’s Auto Body.

Stephen was an avid hunter and outdoors man. He always enjoyed his horses and was a member of The Cowboy Church Ministry by Reverend Raymond Bell.

Many thanks to the staff at The Oaks at Richfield where Stephen resided for almost 3 years.

A memorial service will be held at 5 p.m. on Friday, July 20, 2018 at Lotz Salem Chapel.
