Sidney Scott Grayson, 52, of Roanoke, VA, went to be with the Lord on December 20, 2018, as a result of complications of cancer surgery. He was preceded in death by his mother, Phyllis Irvin Grayson.
Survived by his father, A. Ward Grayson, Jr and stepmother Gay Conner Grayson of Little River, SC; brother, John Michael Grayson and wife, Sarah Rutledge; nephew, Andrew Grayson; niece, Catie Grayson, of Richmond, VA; uncle, Dr. Jim Shelton, of Lynchburg, VA.; daughter, Carrie Lynn Grayson and son Austin Grayson of Christiansburg, VA; beloved cousins, Patti Day and Lisa Stillwell-Wilson and other cousins; loved partner, Connie Saunders and good friend, Jim Gibson, all of Roanoke.
Scott was a graduate of Christiansburg High School. Since Scott loved his cats, donations may be made to the Roanoke SPCA in his memory.
Memorial services will be held at Edgewood Christian Church, 1006 Peck Street, Roanoke, VA, on Tuesday, January 8, 2019, at 11:00 a.m. A friend of the family, Pastor Tom Clymer of Greensboro, NC, will be officiating the service, assisted by Brian Orahood, pastor at Edgewood. Many thanks go out to the staff at Roanoke Memorial Hospital for their care and comfort of Scott during his stay.
