Rosa Lee Secrist, 88, of Roanoke, passed away peacefully on Friday, January 6, 2023. She was born in Roanoke, Virginia, on August 1, 1934, to the late Frank and Annie Keene Proffitt. She was preceded in death by her husband of 54 years, James Edward Secrist and her Grandson, David Neil Secrist.

Rosa graduated from Roanoke Catholic High School and soon after married the love of her life. Rosa loved to bowl, crochet, spend time with friends at Pete’s Deli but her favorite and most cherished time was that spent with her family.

Those left to cherish her memory are her sons, Dennis Secrist, Fincastle, VA, Frank Secrist (Tina), Bedford County, VA and one daughter, Susan Poindexter (Phillip), Roanoke, VA. She was also blessed and spent her life enjoying a total of 26 Grandchildren and Great Grandchildren.

Rosa had a heart of gold. Her love of life and everyone she came into contact with left a lasting impression on all who had the privilege of knowing her. She will be dearly missed by many.

Visitation will be held on Monday, January 9, 2023, from 6:00 p.m. – 8:00 p.m. and a memorial service on Tuesday, January 10, 2023, at 2:00 P.M. at Lotz Funeral Home, 1330 E Main St, Salem, VA 24153.
