Richard Edward Lee, 87, of Roanoke, passed away Sunday, October 7, 2018. He was a Roanoke City fireman for 12 years and was an electrical contractor for many years. He loved the Lord and read the complete Bible many times over. He also never said “No” to his spouse.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Mary Mills and Robert Edward Lee; a sister, Sydney McClanahan; and a niece Laura McClanahan.
He was survived by his wife of 66 years, Dorothy Cowan Lee; daughter, Mary Beth Hall (Eric); son Ricky (Rick) Steven Lee (Karen); grandchildren, Matthew (Katie) Lee, Mary Kathryn (Ryan) Bailey, Patrick (Michelle) Hall, and Lee Hall; great grandchildren, Regan Elizabeth Bailey, Olivia Marie Bailey, Evan Bernard Lee and Anson Louise Lee.
A graveside services will be conducted 2:00 p.m. Thursday, October 11, 2018 at Sherwood Memorial Park with Rev. Greg Irby officiating. The family will receive friends Wednesday from 6 to 8 p.m. at Lotz Funeral Home Salem.
