Rebecca Crowder Jones went home to the Lord on January 4th 2022 at the age of 93.
Rebecca was born to Jacob Franklin Crowder and Cora Ellen Crowder on June 16th 1928 in Botetourt County. As a child Rebecca would help her daddy on the farm milking cows while studying her lessons. Rebecca attended Fincastle High school and graduated top of her class as the Valedictorian. Rebecca met her future husband Charlie Jones in 1948. Charlie and Rebecca a match truly made in heaven.They went on to have 4 children Charles, Aleta, Donna, and William. When Rebecca gave birth to baby Charles she decided to dedicate her life to being a fantastic and loving mother. Rebecca excelled in propping up family members and supporting them through the many passions and difficulties they had. She made it her mission to teach us right from wrong, how to forgive, and be kind to all people. Rebecca was a loyal servant to God first and foremost. Rebecca loved her church and loved sharing the love and warmth of our savior Jesus Christ. Rebecca was passionate about gardening and when she wasn’t filling her home with warmth and kindness she could be found outside taking care of her flowers, vegetables and plants. We will miss her greatly. Rebecca was preceded in death by her father, mother, brother, and sisters and her husband Charlie. She is survived by her four children and five grandchildren Derek, Heather, Shannon, Shanna and Kyle, 7 great grandchildren and one great, great grandchild.
The family will receive friends at Lotz Funeral Home in Salem on Thursday, January 6, 2022 from 5:00 until 7:00 pm. A funeral service will be held in the chapel of Lotz Funeral Home at 2:00 pm on Friday, January 7, 2022. Burial will follow in Sherwood Memorial Park.
