ROBERT OWEN RHODES

Robert Owen Rhodes, 81, passed away peacefully on Saturday, May 12, 2018. Born in Virginia to Leslie Owen and Betty Bell Rhodes, he lived most of his life in Salem, VA.

Bobby worked at Leonard Smith Sheet Metal & Roofing for most of his career. In his spare time he enjoyed building classic cars especially his Model A, hunting, fishing, vegetable gardening, and watching TV mainly American Pickers and the history channel.

Bobby was preceded in death by his wife Charlotte Rhodes; daughter, Cynthia Collins; granddaughter, Cristin Collins; also the following brothers, Preston and Frederick; and sisters, Maggie Custer and Dorothy Mills.

He leaves his loving family Iva Jean; daughter, Pamela and husband Jeffrey Duke; sisters ,Helen Granger and husband ,Edward Granger and Gaynor Hearn, and husband, William; as well as several nieces and nephews; grandchildren, Kinsey, Brandy, Brittany, Nina, and Katie; and great- grandchildren, Hannah, Gracie, Claire, and Charlie.

The family will welcome visitors at Lotz Funeral Home in Salem, VA Tuesday, May 15, 2018, from 4pm-8pm. Funeral services will be held Wednesday, May 16, 2018, 2pm at Lotz Funeral Home in Salem, VA.
