RAYMOND N. BOWLES

Raymond Bowles, 83, of Salem, Va. passed away on Saturday, September 30, 2017.  He was born in Five Forks, Va. on September 17, 1934.  Raymond was preceded in death by his parents, Mr. and Mrs. Ronald E. Bowles, Sr.; his brother, Percy Weldon Bowles and his beloved wife, Inez Goin Bowles. 

Raymond is survived by his sons, Richard N. Bowles (Dawn) and Douglas Bowles; his granddaughters, Michelle Bowles Jones (Wesley) and Allie Bowles (Michael Anderson); one great- granddaughter, Sophie Jones (Michelle) and his brother, Ronald E. Bowles, Jr. 

Raymond sent nearly 50 years as a professional driver before retirement.  He and his wife, Inez were known to enjoy working to help those in need, including work with providing clothing and food to the Clothes Closet, food bank and other charitable organizations.  Raymond was always there for friends, family, neighbors and strangers with a willing hand and open heart.  He was a member of Central United Methodist Church in Salem, Va. 

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Bon Secours Community Hospice House, 1133 Old Bon Air Rd. Richmond Va., 23236 or to whatever charity you feel so led. 

Funeral services will be conducted 2:00 p.m. Monday, October 2, 2017 at Central United Methodist Church in Salem.  The family will receive friends 6 to 8 p.m. Sunday, October 1, 2017 at Lotz Funeral Home, Salem.
