Peggy J Davis Vass

Peggy J. Davis Vass, 76, of Roanoke passed away on May 13, 2023 at Lewis Gale Medical Center.

A native of Virginia she was the wife of 36 years to Garnett R. Vass, who survives, and the daughter of Windom R. Davis and Tiney Davis, both deceased. Peggy’s priority in life was serving the Lord. She was a longtime member of Hollins Road Baptist Church, where she served in the AWANA program. Peggy was known for how well she loved people, especially her family, there wasn’t anything she would not do for them.

In addition to her husband those left to cherish her memory are her children, Robin Johnson, Deidra Castellano, and Jeffrey Vass; grandchildren, Tiffany Martin, Heather Farmer, and Angela “Nikki” Crowder and husband Brendon; great grandchildren, Kaitlyn Bailey, Brayden Rogers, Rylee Martin, Madison Martin, Colten Mitchell, and Ellie Crowder; great great grandchild, Jaxson Wyatt; sister, Teresa Cashett; and brothers, Lonnie Davis, Steve Davis, and Larry Davis; and a number of nieces and nephews.

In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her siblings, Ruth, Roscoe, Janice, Earnest, Carolyn, Jean, Bob, and Johnny.

The family will receive friends at Lotz Funeral Home in Salem on Thursday, May 18, 2023 from 10:00 until 11:00 am. A funeral service will follow in the chapel of Lotz Funeral Home at 11:00 am with Pastor Mark Washington officiating. Entombment will be in Blue Ridge Memorial Gardens.

In lieu of flowers memorials may be made to Hollins Road Baptist Church Building Fund.
