Paul Motley

Paul Motley, 93, of Salem made it to heaven on November 13, 2023.

A native of Virginia he was the beloved husband of 68 years to Shirley H. Motley, who survives, and the son of Daniel C. Motley and Rosie Bolling Motley, both deceased. Paul was a veteran of the United States Army. He worked for 35 years in Quality Control for General Electric. Paul was a member of Connelly Memorial Baptist Church where he was a Deacon Emeritus. He was known for helping others, especially his church. Paul was integral in the building of Connelly Memorial Baptist’s new building.

In addition to his beloved wife those left to cherish his memory are his daughters, Bonnie Motley and Connie Scribner and husband Jeff; two step grandchildren, Megan and Samantha Scribner; and two sisters, Pauline Holland and Sallie Savage.  

The family will receive friends at Lotz Funeral Home in Salem on Wednesday, November 15, 2023 from 1:00 until 2:00 pm. A funeral service will follow in the chapel of Lotz Funeral Home at 2:00 pm with Pastor George Bulson officiating. Interment will be in Sherwood Memorial Park.

In lieu of flowers memorial donations may be made to Connelly Memorial Baptist Church, 1518 Mountain Heights Drive, Salem, VA 24153.
