Nelson B. Amos, of Penhook, VA., went to be with the Lord on June 14, 2022.
He is survived by his wife of 33 years, Pamela Garman Amos; son, Jason (Jen) Amos and 3 grandchildren, Charlotte, Jack, Wyatt; his sister, Evelyn Turner, sisters-in-law, Mildred Amos, Sue Ward, Ruby Edwards (Dan); and many nieces and nephews.
Nelson worked on a farm until age 18, then to Dan River Mills for 2 years, then to Disston, in Danville, for 5 years and then, DuPont in Martinsville and retired after 28 years of service in 1992. He enjoyed buying, selling and tinkering with old cars with his prize vehicle being a 1970 red Chevelle Convertible. He helped and was always willing to give to anyone in need. He NEVER met a stranger.
His favorite color, RED, please feel free to wear his favorite color.
The family will receive friends on Friday, June 17, 2022 from 11 to 1 p.m. at Lotz Salem Chapel. A funeral service will follow at 1 p.m. in the Chapel. Pastor Roger Hogan will be officiating the service. Special friend, Virgil Goode will be speaking. Burial will follow in Halls Cemetery, Catawba, Va.
