Nancy Lee Wimmer Mann
July 3rd 1937-September 18th 2018
Beloved wife, mother, sister and grandmother, passed surrounded by her family at Lewis Gale Hospital into the loving embrace of God on Tuesday morning after suffering declining health over the last few years while being tenderly cared for by her daughter, Helen, and visited daily by her husband, Rusty, in a cozy little accessible condo in Salem with her constant companion kitties, Sugar and Moonlight, by her side.
Nancy Lee born in Callaway, VA., raised her family in Roanoke County, Virginia and will be mourned by her husband of 63 years, George “Rusty” M. Mann Jr. and four loving children Helen Mann, James Mann, Sheila Mann and son in law Tracy Sledd of Roanoke, and Victoria Mann Bender and son in law Thomas Bender of Massachusetts. “Granny” will be fondly remembered and sadly missed by her grandchildren Elizabeth and Caroline Lee Bender of Massachusetts, Benjamin Mann, Adam and Lauren Sledd of Roanoke Virginia. Nancy Lee is also survived by her brothers Paul and Robert Comer, and sister Cherie Wright.
Nancy enjoyed many friends and acquaintances throughout her busy life as a Roanoke Valley real estate agent and into her older years as a cashier at K&W Cafeteria, Tanglewood, where she would enthusiastically greet the many who looked forward to her daily gracious smile and kindness. She will be eulogized this Saturday in an intimate, private family service at Sherwood Gardens followed by a celebration memorial dinner at Luigi’s restaurant, as she never throughout her life, received any soul great or small without a homemade meal prepared by her caring, loving hands.
In lieu of flowers the family requests donations in honor of Nancy to the Roanoke Valley Angels of Assisi.
