Mary "Lou" Wells

Mary Lou Wells, 81, of Salem, Va., went to be with our Lord and Savior on Sunday, June 2, 2019.

Mary is preceded in death by her husband of 61 years, William Ervin (Buddy) Wells, Sr.; parents John and Frances Lessie (Les) Brown; sisters Lois Moses and Betty Turner; brothers, Alvin Brown, Arnold Brown and Vernon Brown.

Mary is survived by her son, William (Billy) Wells Jr. (Dayna); daughter, Melissa Dooley (Jay); sister, Dorothy (Dot) Blankenship; grandson, Justin Dooley; granddaughters, Chelsea Kirby (Henry) and Sydney Wells; and many loving nieces, nephews and extended family.

Mary was a long time member of Salem Wesleyan Church and a career employee of Salem City Schools. 

The family will receive friends from 2:00 p.m. until 3:00 p.m. on Sunday June 9, 2019 at Lotz Funeral Home, 1330 East Main Street, Salem. The funeral service will take place from 3:00 p.m. until 4:00 p.m. at the Lotz Funeral Home Chapel. A committal service will be held at Cedar Lawn Memorial Park on Monday, June 10, 2019 at 10:30 a.m.
