Lucy Clement Smith

Lucy Clement Smith, 85, of Salem, passed away Sunday, November 25, 2018.  She was born in Ararat, Va. She was a member of Bethel Baptist Church and was an Instructional Assistant with Roanoke County Schools. 

She was preceded in death by her husband, Ellis W. Smith; parents, Adam and Sally Matthews Clement; brothers, Nelson Clement and Willis Clement. 

Surviving are her children, Janice Smith and Ed Hixon, of Shawsville, David W. and Teresa Smith, of Salem; grandchildren, Matthew and Joseph Wilcher; great grandchildren, Melody Wilcher, Alex Wilcher, Caitlin Wilcher, Michael Wilcher and Logan Wilcher, Catelyn Wright and Christina Smallwood; brothers and sisters, Alpha, Lottie, Romey, Hennis and Johnny. 

Funeral services will be conducted 2:00 p.m. Thursday, November 29, 2018 at Lotz Salem Chapel.  Interment will follow in Sherwood Memorial Park.  The family will receive friends
2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Wednesday, November 28, 2018 at the funeral home.
