Karen Guthrie Gomes

Karen Leigh Guthrie Gomes, 68, of Roanoke, left this earthly life on September 19, 2018.

Surviving are three children, Michelle Reeve(Pete): Fuquay Varina, NC; Melinda Ross, Salem; Louis Gomes, IV, Roanoke; mother, Vivian (Deany) Cook, Roanoke; sister, Cheryl Thompson (Jeff), Bedford; 5 grandchildren, Caitlin Beachley, Kameron Schuebel, Vanessa Coppens, Emily Coppens, Savannah Ross. She was predeceased by her father, D.T. Guthrie.

Karen was a member of the Andrew Lewis High School Class of 1968. She also attended East Tennessee State University. She retired in 2016 from Plastics One, after more than 24 years of service. She enjoyed Washington Redskins and Pittsburgh Steelers football.

Friends and family will be received on Saturday, September 22, from 11:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m., with Memorial Service to follow at Lotz Funeral Home Salem. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to the Roanoke Diversity Center.
