Jimmie David McKinney II

Jimmie David McKinney left his earthly home and passed into an eternity in Heaven on November 16, 2023 at the age of 62.

Although David had a long, successful career as a Postal Inspector, his most treasured accomplishments were: being a loving husband, an amazing father, a respected youth group leader, and a committed supporter of the refugee community in Roanoke. He dedicated most of his life to ministry- helping others apply for citizenship, attending soccer games, stepping in as a loving father figure, fixing cars, assisting with house projects, and helping anyone in need- all while being a continuous example of a strong man of integrity and character.

Memories of him will be treasured in many hearts forever. His family includes: his wife and soulmate, Connie; his son, Joshua; his daughter and son-in-law, Anna and Jeff; his favorite grandson, Soe; his honorary children, Khee Lah, Sharklay, and many others in the Nepali and Refugee community who were always on his heart.

A funeral service will be held at The Church at Grandin Village on Sunday, November 19th at 5:30 pm. Visitation will be prior from 4-5 pm.
