Jack Holland left us peacefully Tuesday morning while listening to Bob Dylan songs to ease his journey. He has probably immediately joined a blues band, playing in some small corner of Heaven. (Yes, even though it seems like a contradiction, I think God allows the blues to be played and sung there.)
He is survived by his two daughters, Julia Ruth Holland, and Anna Racheal Holland; a brother, Darrell (OBD) Holland, sister-in-law, Cheri Holland, and many other family and friends that will always remember him fondly.
Jack was an extraordinary musician and played everywhere. All that was required was a keyboard, guitar, or any other number of instruments, and he would simply sit down and play. He enjoyed his 30 year career with WDBJ and cherished the people there. Their friendship and relationships had a great impact on his life. He will be missed.
There will be no services at this time, but a Celebration of Life memoriam is planned for the future. In lieu of flowers, or contributions; Jack would have you listen and enjoy some good music today in remembrance of him.
