James Randolph Meredith, of Salem, passed away Tuesday, July 24, 2018. He was born October 18, 1924.
He retired from the United States Army and Gravely Tractors. His military career included 745th Tank Battalion of the US 3rd Army in World War II and 70th Tank Battalion Korea. He was very proud of his service to his country and a believer in his Lord and Savior Jesus Christ.
His surviving family includes his wife, Helen Snyder Meredith; son, James Randolph Meredith Jr. and his wife, Kathy; granddaughter, Laura Ashton and husband, Jon; 2 great granddaughters, Tori and Holly Ashton; grandson, Michael Meredith; brother, Robert Meredith and wife, Diane; nephew, Reverend Robbie Meredith and wife, Kasi and children; nephew, David Meredith; niece, Dawn Draper.
Graveside service will be 3 p.m. on Friday, July 27, 2018 at Cedar Lawn Burial Park. Visitation will be private.
