Homer “Lee” Hale of Salem passed away Tuesday, September 13, 2022, at the age of 69.
He was born on August 12, 1953, in Roanoke, to the late William Ross Hale Jr. He is survived by his mother Virginia Martin Hale, brother Ross Hale (Karen), nephews Josh Hale (Tracy) and Travis, great- nephew’s Mason & Maclin Hale, and a number of cousins. Lee is also survived by many dear friends including Angela Lieb, Rob Logan, Gary Lautenschlager, and David Pugh.
Lee was a member of College Lutheran Church, a Salem Police Officer, and went on to become a Salem Appraiser with the City of Salem with 30 years of service. He was also a lifetime member of the Salem Rescue Squad.
In his free time, Lee enjoyed watching his favorite racecar driver, Jimmy Johnson. He always made his friends and family laugh, was so kind and thoughtful, and was always looking out for others. He will be sincerely missed.
In lieu of flowers, the family asks that you consider a donation to the Salem Rescue Squad or College Lutheran Church in Salem.
A Service of Remembrance will be held on Monday, September 19, 2022 at Lotz Salem Chapel at 11:00 am. A visitation will be held prior to the service beginning at 10:00 am.
