Elva Justis Caldwell

Elva Justis Caldwell, age 87 of Salem VA, joined her Lord and Savior on September 5, 2023 in her home surrounded by family and her loving husband of 68 years, James Roscoe Caldwell.

In addition to her husband, those left to cherish her memory; son Tony (Lisa) Caldwell and daughter Tammy (Ricky) DeHart. Grandchildren; Chad (Betsey) Caldwell, Ashley (Scott) Myers, Hunter DeHart, Evan (Courtney) DeHart, Kayla (Dylan) Nelson, Tyler (Danielle) DeHart, along with eight precious great grandchildren that always put a smile on her face and many special nieces and nephews.

Elva was preceded in death by her parents; Earl and Glenna Justis, brothers; Donald and Glenwood Justis, sisters; Gaye Ellis, Barbara Darnell and Sandra Thompson. 

Elva dedicated her life to supporting her husband and children. Her kitchen was always filled with plenty of food, music and laughter.  She will be missed tremendously, but we are at peace knowing she is reunited with her family, pain free and dancing again.  

The family will receive friends at Lotz Funeral Home in Salem on Friday, September 8, 2023 between 2-3pm.   A Celebration of Life will immediately follow in the chapel of Lotz Funeral Home at 3pm with Pastor Ken Nienke officiating.
