Donald Eugene Jones

Donald Eugene Jones, 73, of Vinton passed away on April 21, 2022 at his residence.

A native of Virginia he was the beloved husband of 23 years to Darlene Danenberg Jones, who survives, and the son of Ira and Dorothy Jones, both deceased. Donald was a skilled machinist, woodworker, and fabricator. He was a member of Masons Cove Volunteer Fire Department and Catawba Masons Cove Rescue for nearly 40 years. Donald enjoyed gardening, cooking, and camping.

In addition to his wife he is survived by his daughter, Melissa Jones Kirk and husband Matt; his son, Scott Jones and wife Courtney; son, Christopher Woolwine and wife Rada; five grandchildren, Carson Jones, Chloe Woolwine, Giovanna Kirk, Olivia Kirk, and Austin Woolwine.

The family will receive friends at Lotz Funeral Home in Salem on Wednesday, April 27, 2022 from 6:00 until 8:00 pm.

A memorial service will be held at Lotz Funeral Home in Salem on Thursday, April 28, 2022 at 11:00 am. Burial will follow in Sherwood Memorial Park.
