Darlyne G. Eggleston

Darlyne Gail Eggleston (Dee) passed away peacefully at the age of 73 on March 4, 2022, with the love of her family surrounding her. Darlyne was born in Salem, VA., on May 20, 1948 and attended Andrew Lewis High School.  She worked for 25 years at the Roanoke Regional Airport where she could always make everyone smile.  After leaving the Airport, she was an amazing caregiver who loved helping others.  Darlyne was one of a kind, always making people laugh with her great sense of humor and her beautiful contagious smile.  She enjoyed going to yard sales, selling on ebay, but most of all spending time with her grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her loving husband, Robert L. Eggleston; her parents, Allen and Callie Woolwine; her brothers, Wallace, Wayne, and Donald.

Darlyne will be greatly missed by her daughter, Crystal Hopper, son-in-law, Stuart Hopper, and her granddaughters, Callie and Autumn who she cherished so much.  She will also be missed by her sister, Shirley Mathena; brother, Jimmy Woolwine; a nephew who was just like her brother, Don Mathena; her best friend of many years, Helene Brown; and many of her family and friends.

Visitation will be at Lotz Funeral Home Salem, VA., Friday, March 11, 2022 from 6 to 8 p.m.  Funeral service will be held, Saturday, March 12, 2022, 11 a.m. at Lotz Salem Chapel, followed by a graveside service at Sherwood Memorial Park in Salem, VA.
