Carlton C. Janney

Carlton C. Janney, 91, of Salem, went to be with the Lord on Thursday, July 1, 2021.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Eldridge & Margie Janney, a brother, Douglas Janney, a sister, Mildred Pickerel, and wife, Marian Janney.

He is survived by his daughter, Ellen Janney, son, Anthony Janney & wife Christa, and sister, JoAnn Walkinshaw.

Carlton was a Christian man for over 76 years.  He was a member of the Salem Pentecostal Holiness Church (Salem) and of Harbor of Hope Church (Christiansburg).

He enjoyed hiking, bicycling, and was a true lover of nature.  He also had a thirst for knowledge and was an avid reader, with his favorite book being the Bible.

He was a retired Social Worker, working for both the City of Roanoke and the Salem VA Medical Center.

A Celebration of Life Service will be held at 2 p.m. on Saturday, July 31, 2021 at Christian Life International Church, 1 CLI Way, Salem, VA 24153.  The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service at the Church.

In lieu of flowers, donations made to Piedmont Camp Meeting, PO Box 615, Salem, VA 24153, would be appreciated.
