CHRISTOPHER DOUGLAS SMITH

Christopher “Donut” Smith passed peacefully with family at his side, on Sunday, May 6, 2018. He fought a courageous battle, but passed from complications of a stroke he had this past week. He was 56 years old.

He worked in a car stereo installation company for many years, eventually owning his own business in Salem. He most recently worked for a Security company.

He was preceded in death by his mother, Ginger Smith and a brother, Joey D. Smith.

He is survived by his wife, Stephanie; father, Doug Smith; brother, David Smith (Kim); sister, Jill Smith; son, Christopher D. Smith, Jr.; nephews, Robby Dunn, Cade Smith, Ridge Windel, Noah Smith; nieces, Kelly-Anne Elizabeth Smith, Sierra Windel; his fur babies, Suzy and Gracie; father-in-law, Steven Duncan; mother-in-law, Gloria Sheppard; many close friends, Robert, Bobby, Frank, Raymond, Teresa, Twylia and Kim; a special cousin, Melanie; his go out to eat buddy; and special thanks to cousin, Kay-you seemed to be right where we needed you at a difficult time; many aunts, uncles and cousins .

Many thanks to CRMH, 9 South, ICU nurses, especially Emily, Claudia, Daniel and Josh. Thank you to Dr. Tarar, who kept “Donuts” best interest and wishes in mind at all times.
