Cheryl Marie Waldron

November 22, 1967 ~ April 6, 2021 (age 53) 53 Years Old

Tribute

Cheryl Marie Gettys Waldron, 53, of Roanoke, went to heaven on April 6, 2021.  Cheryl retired from Verizon after 30 years of service, and currently worked for VDOT.  Cheryl was predeceased by her husband of 30 years, Tommy Waldron, and her parents Clair and Roberta Gettys.  She is survived by her children Cassie and Logan Waldron and fiancé Brian Reynolds, step-children Lindley Reynolds, Jonathon Clemons, Lora Arnold, and Emily Eversole.

Cheryl has a very large family including sisters and brothers, Wendy Leib, Sandi & Howard Wyland, George & Deb Gettys, Wade Carter, Robert Carter, Judy Carpenter, Jesse Mitchell, and Thomas Carter, mother in-law Rebecca Clark, sisters and brother in-laws, Gena Doyle, Kathi & Jandel Foley, and many, nieces, nephews, and great nieces and nephews.  She had a special fur-baby, Michael Jordan.

Cheryl never met a stranger and her laugh and personality lit up every room that she was in.  She had many adopted friends and family all over the country, including the Glenn family of Leesburg, VA, Jessica Palmer, Dennis Thomas, Jane Neighbors, Pat Blevins, and Rosa Weeks.

Cheryl was devoted to her children and was the best mom that anyone could ask for.  She made time for anyone in her life and adopted many people as family.  Her sense of humor was legendary with her friends and family and her ability to tell a good story, give everyone nicknames, and break out into a dance or a rap could bring everyone to tears.

Cassie and Logan would like to recognize Brian, her fiancé, for coming into her life after she lost their dad.  Brian’s love saved her when her children didn’t think it was possible that she could find love and happiness again. He, and his children, will always be family and have a special place in our heart.

in lieu of flowers or food donations, we would appreciate donations to her GoFundMe page to help with her bills and costs(Link is Memorial and help for Cheryl Waldon, organized by Cassie Waldron).

Chery’s family will receive friends at Lotz in Salem, VA on Saturday, April 10 at 1-3 pm, with a memorial service at 3:00 pm.
