Catherine (Katie) Eloise Pack Jones, 84, of Salem, died at home May 19, 2021, as a result of complications from Parkinson’s disease. She was born in Cripple Creek, Virginia, on January 3, 1937, the eldest of nine children born to Richard Lee Pack and Edna Mae Jonas Pack. In addition to her parents, Katie was predeceased by her husband, Edward F. Jones.
Katie is survived by her daughter and son-in-law, Sherry and Robert Glenn, Jr., of Fairlawn; her son, Tony Jones, of Roanoke; all eight of her siblings and many extended family members, including nieces and nephews.
Katie was employed by Roanoke City Schools for many years as a school food service manager. Cooking was her lifelong passion, and she enjoyed nurturing bodies and souls through food. She also loved her family and was a dedicated and loving daughter, sister and mother.
A memorial service will be scheduled for a later date.
