Catherine (Katie) Enderline Furrow

Catherine (Katie) Enderline Furrow, age 93, of Roanoke County, VA., went home to be with her Lord and Savior on December 19, 2020.  She was born in Portage, PA., on February 6, 1927 to Charles M. and Theresa Irene Enderline.  In 1945 she moved to Washington, DC, where she served in government service for 20 years as a Budget Analyst.  She then went to work as the Office Manager at Bradshaw Shoes in Northern, VA., before moving to Salem, VA., where she worked at Sovran Bank and H&R Block.  Katie loved teaching children the Bible as she served for years as a Sunday school teacher at Methodist Protestant Church in Alexandria, VA, West Salem Baptist Church in Salem, VA, and Cave Spring Baptist Church in Roanoke, VA. 

Katie was preceded in death by her beloved husband of 73 years Hayden Mayo Furrow; her siblings Audrey Jenkins, Barbara Ely, Donna Primel, Janet Cornwell, Josephine “Dody” Weaver, Bob Enderline and Jim Enderline.   She is survived by her children and grandchildren, Hayden (Skip) and late Anne Furrow (Joel and Hillary Furrow, and Matthew and late Cassidy Furrow), Cathy and Dan Althouse (Stephanie and Vincent Scriva, and John Brooke and Christie Althouse), and John and Beverley Furrow (Lindsay and William Donovan, Caleb and Emily Furrow, and Joshua Furrow).  Katie also has 14 great-grandchildren.

A Viewing and Celebration of Life will be held at Lotz Funeral Home in Salem on Monday, December 28, 2020 at 10:00 a.m. and 11:00 am respectively.  In lieu of flowers and gifts the family asks that donations be made to the Cave Spring Baptist Church Missions Fund at 4873 Brambleton Ave., Roanoke, VA 24018 or the National D-day Memorial at 3 Overlord Circle, Bedford, VA 24523.
