Beulah Marie Lynch, 92, of Roanoke, VA passed away peacefully on Thursday, February 28, 2019. She was a hard worker with a kind heart, who cared deeply for others. She was preceded in death by her daughter, Joyce M. Yopp.
Surviving are her two daughters, Brenda Hodge (Jerry), and Shelia Huffman (Rick); grandchildren, Billy Yopp, Julie Aliff, Ricky Huffman, Brian Hodge, Kimberly Booth, and Kristi Rike; six great grandchildren; and many special friends.
Beulah Marie Lynch was widowed at a young age with three young children. She was a hard worker who held a full time job while raising her girls.
She had a kind heart and would do anything for anyone. After retirement, she spent her time as a caregiver for the aging and sick.
Beulah was always independent until the end. She was determined to remain at her home, even as her health declined. She even went as far as to kindly fire the caregivers that family hired after her stay in Richfield. She told them they could come and visit anytime they wanted, but she didn’t need their help. She could take care of herself!
Another example of her independence was her determination to drive until the age of 89. It took her driving on top of a neighbor’s boulder to convince her it was time to give up the keys. When I say boulder, I mean a three foot boulder!
These are only a few examples of the sweet, but sassy woman that Beulah Lynch was.
We find comfort in the fact that she is now reunited with her first born, Joyce Mae. They were always so close and shared a special bond. Their relationship was more like that of sisters.
She treasured her neighbors and friends who came to visit, called, and showered her with special treats she loved.
A graveside service will be held at 2 p.m. on Monday, March 4, 2019 at Sherwood Memorial Park in Salem. Arrangements by Lotz Funeral Home, Salem.
She will be greatly missed by all who knew and loved her.
