BILLY G. WHITE

Billy Gene White, 85, of Salem went to be with the Lord on March 21, 2018. Bill was born July 20, 1932 to the late Homer and Verlia White of Hillsville, VA. He was preceded in death by sisters Pauline McMillian, Violet Spangler and granddaughter Marian Gordon.

Bill served on USS Lake Champlain and retired from Navy Reserves after 21 years. He retired from GE after 32 years and he owned White Carpentry Works for 15 years.

He is survived by his loving wife of 64 years, Sue, children; son, Bill White Jr. (Vicki) of Germantown Hills, IL; granddaughter, Kara (Jeremy) Logan; great grandsons, Cooper and Levi ; grandson, Keith (Bre) White; great grandson, Eli; daughter, Donna Williams (Larry) of Elliston; granddaughter, Ellen (Keith) Bishop; great grandsons, Ethan and Parker; grandson, Brian (Melinda) Williams; great grandchildren, Katie, Christopher, Brandon; daughter, Dianne Gordon (Dave) of Grove City, PA ; granddaughter, Grace (Bud) Fickley; great grandson, Tripp; granddaugther, Dabney (Josh) Schlea; daughter, Denise Doyle (Steve) of Roanoke; grandson, Adam (Kate) Fiancee, grandson, Aaron.

Funeral service will be held 2:00 p.m. on Saturday, March 24, 2018 at Lotz in Salem with the Rev. Bill White Jr. officiating. Visitation will be Friday, March 23, 2018 from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. at Lotz in Salem. In lieu of flowers, please consider making a donation to your favorite charity.
