Lee Oncelo Mathena

Lee Oncelo Mathena, 76, of Salem, Va., went to be with the Lord on Wednesday December 2, 2020.

Lee is survived by his long time wife, Shirley J. Mathena; brother, Mike Mathena and wife, Becky; daughters, Carol Mathena, Connie Thomas and son- in -law, Greg Thomas; son, Lee Mathena, Jr. and daughter–in-law, Sarah; step daughter, Patricia Clark and son-in- law, Ben Clark, and step son; Don Mathena;  grandkids, Jeff Clark and wife, Beth, Justin Clark, Ethan and Owen Mathena; great grandkids, Samantha and Sean; along with numerous nieces and nephews.

He is preceded in death by his father and mother, Raymond and Frances Mathena; brother, Douglas Mathena, and sister, Ileda Ribble. 

Lee served in both the United States Army and the Army Reserves. He enjoyed spending time with his family, collecting antiques and was also an avid coin collector.

The family will receive friends at Lotz Funeral Home in Salem, Va., on Monday December 7, 2020 at 1:00 pm. A graveside service will follow at 2:00 pm at Sherwood Memorial Park. Pastor  Chris Kingery will officiate. 

In lieu of flowers a donation can be made to St Jude’s children's hospital.
