Inais Velma Alba

Inais Velma Alba of Salem Va. passed away peacefully on May 17, 2017 at Bland Nursing and Rehab Center with family at her side. She was 83 years old.

She was born July 16, 1933 in Grundy, VA to George and Lula Cordell of Garden, VA. Primarily a mother for her three sons, she moved to Salem VA. in 1974 to be closer to them and keeping them together through holidays and special events. She is remembered for her creativity to include pulling together meals to make a feast for any family member that visited. She also enjoyed drawing and occasional writing of poetry.

Inais is survived by her three sons, Richie (Peggy) Alba of Wytheville, VA, Daryl (Kitty) Alba of Salem, VA and Tim (Liz) Alba of Charlotte, NC and 6 grandchildren, Erin DeMarco, Brian Alba, Sabrina Alba, Derek Alba, Rebecca Alba and Caroline Alba and 4 great-grandchildren MaKayla and Chase DeMarco, and Seth and Drew Alba.

A Graveside Service will be held at 11 a.m. on Saturday, May 27, 2017, at Sherwood Memorial Park, Salem, VA with Charles Reese Officiating.

In lieu of flowers the family requests memorials in her name be provided to Kissito Bland County – Activities, 12185 Grapefield Road, Bastian, VA 24314. The family wishes to extend their gratitude to the staff of Kissito Bland County Nursing and Rehab Center for providing exceptional and loving care in these final days.
