EDGAR CLINTON McDANIEL

Edgar Clinton “Ed” McDaniel, 65, of Salem, passed away Monday, March 13, 2017.  He was employed by Carilion as a supervisor of the M.R.I. Mobile Imaging Department for 21 years.  He attended Radford Wesleyan Church.  He was a hot air balloon pilot and was a member of Carolina Balloon Association and the Shenandoah Balloon Club, where he was a mentor to all. He never met a stranger and had a heart of gold.  He was an exceptional listener.  He is survived by his beloved wife of 40 years, Brenda McGuire McDaniel and a host of aunts, uncles and his “Chosen Family”.  Funeral services will be conducted 10:30 am. Saturday, March 18, 2017 at Lotz Salem Chapel.  The family will receive friends and family from 9:30-10:30 a.m. Saturday prior to the service. Memorial contributions may be made to Angels of Assisi, 415 Campbell Ave. S.W. Roanoke, Va. 24016.
